Two Dead In Separate Tampa Shootings, Police Investigating

TAMPA, FL. – Tampa Police Detectives are working on two separate unrelated homicides that happened on Friday and Saturday.

According to police, on Friday, just after 2 PM, units responded to a report of shots heard in the area of the 2900 block of N. 17th St. Upon arrival they found the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

This does not appear to be a random act, according to police.

In an unrelated case, on Saturday morning at approximately 5:05 AM, officers responded to 1715 N 50th St. in reference to someone being shot.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim laying along 50th St. The victim, a 33-year-old male, was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

This case also does not appear to be a random act and updates will be provided when they become available.
