PASCO COUNTY, FL. – A 65-year-old Tennessee woman was killed in a crash that happened on I-75 in Pasco County on Thursday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Tennessee woman was driving an SUV southbound on I-75 near mile marker 293, along the outside shoulder. Troopers say the woman initiated a left turn so as to travel to the median.
Her SUV entered the path of a pickup truck that was traveling southbound on I-75 in the center lane.
Investigators say the front of the pickup truck collided with the left side of the SUV and that both vehicles rotated to a stop along the inside shoulder where SUV caught fire.
Troopers say the woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The pickup truck driver, a 50-year-old man from Bellview, and his passenger, a 14-year-old boy, suffered only minor injuries.
