19-Year-Old Man Killed In Overnight Rollover Crash

OCALA, FL. – A 19-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday night, according to police.

On Tuesday, around 9:45 p.m., Ocala Police Department responded to the intersection of NE 3rd St. and NE 10th Ave. in reference to a crash that involved two vehicles.

The vehicles involved were a Mitsubishi Mirage and a Ford Expedition.

The Ford was rolled over on the driver’s side at the corner of the intersection and the driver, Isaiah Wiggins, 19 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi said he was traveling westbound on NE 3rd St., when Wiggins, traveling northbound on NE 10th Ave., ran the stop sign and crossed his right of way.

That’s when the Mitsubishi’s front bumper collided with Wiggins’ passenger side door, causing Wiggins’ vehicle to overturn.

Wiggins was not wearing his seat belt. The other driver and passenger in the Mitsubishi were wearing their seat belts and had no injuries.

Currently, OPD is investigating this crash. The rate of speed is uncertain at this time.

“Isaiah Wiggin’s family has been notified and OPD is working closely with them during this difficult time,” said Ocala Police Department in a statement
