Temple Terrace To Celebrate 4th Of July With 46th Annual Parade And Fireworks

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The City of Temple Terrace will host its 46th annual Independence Celebration on Saturday, July 3 starting at 10 am with a parade through the City, featuring floats by community groups, businesses, civic organizations and elected officials, as well as a special appearance by the C. Leon King High School Marching Lions.

The festivities resume at 6 pm on the first fairway of the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club.

Friends, neighbors and families can enjoy live music by Charlie Imes and the Sundogs, featuring Roger Bartlett, Jimmy Buffett’s original lead guitarist.

There also will be food trucks and children’s activities and entertainment, including 2020 Best of the Bay winner Magician Cory Van Valin, all leading up to a fireworks display at 9:15 pm.

“All of us know that this past year has been challenging on many levels, not the least of which was the cancellation of events and isolation from friends and neighbors due to precautions surrounding COVID-19. With more and more residents and staff becoming vaccinated, restrictions now are lifting,” said Karl Langefeld, director of Leisure Services for the City.

“Because of this, we are moving forward with our 46th Annual Temple Terrace Independence Day Celebration on July 3,” Langefeld added. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the strength and resiliency of our City – and our nation.”

The parade begins at 10 am at Whiteway Dr. and Gillette Ave. It will then run south to Druid Hills, west to Ridgedale and south to the Temple Terrace Little League fields. Parking is allowed on any side street that doesn’t have “No Parking” signs. The evening festivities will take place on the first fairway of the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club, 200 Inverness Ave.

The Temple Terrace Independence Celebration is sponsored by Advent Health Tampa, Pilot Bank, the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club, Ramada by Wyndham and Stepp’s Towing.

Organizations or businesses that would like to have a float in the parade or be a sponsor of the event can find applications on the City’s website at templeterrace.com.
