HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – UPDATED STORY CLICK HERE..Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is asking motorists to find an alternate route Sunday morning.
“Cortez Boulevard (SR-50) is closed in both directions from Commercial Way(US-19) to the Environmental Center (just past the back side of the state park),” said HCSO in a social post.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Troopers are investigating a fatal crash at Evanston Street and Cortez Boulevard and further details would be released after the investigation.
This area is just west of the intersection of US 19 and SR-50, near the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
