LAKELAND, Fla. – A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with killing two people who went missing in Lakeland last year and were later found dead.
On Thursday, Ladevon Cottingham was formally indicted on multiple felony charges for the deaths of 22-year-old Takeria Adderly and 65-year-old Ricky Kimball, according to Lakeland Police.
“This was a nine-month-long investigation that resulted in this guy being arrested and taken off the street. As I referred to this guy is absolutely predator and easy exactly where he needs to be,” said Lakeland Police Chief Ruben Garcia at a press conference on Friday.
Takeria Adderly’s remains were found hidden in heavy vegetation on July 29, 2020. Her family reported her missing on June 30th, 2020.
On June 30, 2020, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person report for Ricky Kimball after he stepped out to take a break from his job at Circle K and never returned. Kimball’s body was discovered in a wooded area two days later.
Cottingham is being held in the Polk County Jail.
