The Democrats spent four long years claiming Donald Trump was an illegitimate president, elected by the machinations of Vladimir Putin — even as they offered no evidence of that, lied about what proof they claimed to have, and simultaneously complained that it was Trump who was undermining confidence in the federal government.
The result was not one but two failed impeachments – promoted and pushed by several Democrats who rejected the impeachment of President Bill Clinton when hard evidence of his actual crimes existed.
Nonetheless, the Democrats’ ruthless, relentless obsession with the guy who is out of office continues.
California Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez, backed by 13 other House Democrats, has filed a bill that essentially seeks to erase the memory of the 45th president.
The “No Glory for Hate Act” would ban federal funding to “create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives … on Federal public land, including any highway, park, subway, Federal building, military installation, street, or other Federal property.”
The measure would also block funding to “name, designate, or redesignate a Federal building or Federal land after, or in commemoration of, any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.”
Moreover, no federal money “or other Federal financial assistance” could be given to state or local governments if it is to be “used for the benefit of any building, land, structure, installation, or any other property that bears the name, or is named or designated in commemoration of, any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, Sanchez’s bill would strip Trump of all benefits entitled to ex-presidents except for Secret Service protection, and would prohibit the defense secretary from approving the “interment or inurnment in Arlington National Cemetery … of any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.”
I can’t understand how ,when all of this started, ( democracy) I mean. Some brilliant guidelines for the people to receive a vote on items through their party leaders. It was great knowing people would come together to really discuss options, create new legislature that was beneficial to all. Also, that they didn’t want to get embroiled in the personal aspects of government. They wanted to be able to look up…see an injustice…then come together to fix it. What we started out as has become the shit stain left in politicians underwear.
