SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a sexual battery that happened at a salon suite at 200 Central Avenue, Sarasota, in September 2020. Sarasota Police Department detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking them to call the Sarasota Police Department.
Michael Morris, 53, of Sarasota, was arrested on December 1, 2020, at his home in the 2700 block of Cocoanut Bay Lane, Sarasota, on a warrant for sexual battery based on the investigation in September 2020.
Morris is a massage therapist and currently, his license with the Florida Department of Health is listed as Emergency Restriction / Active.
According to the Department of Health, Emergency Restriction / Active means the licensed practitioner is restricted by emergency order of the department. The licensed practitioner may practice in Florida but has restrictions specified by emergency order.
Since Morris’ arrest in December, Sarasota Police Department detectives have worked diligently to continue their investigation.
Detectives believe Morris had contact with multiple people as a massage therapist and have reason to believe there may be additional victims.
