Trump Signs $600 Stimulus, U.S. Lawmakers Expected to Vote on $2,000 for Americans Today

BREAKING – U.S. House has voted yes on $2,000 Stimulus Relief for Americans.

President Donald Trump has signed the $900 billion COVID package that will deliver relief cash to businesses and individuals, which includes direct $600 payments to Americans.

However, the House plans to vote on a measure to increase stimulus checks to $2,000 on Monday, and in a statement released by Trump on Sunday night, he said the Senate would also “start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000.”

“I simply want to get our great people $2000, rather than the measly $600 that is now in the bill,” Trump said in a tweet.

“Now, the President must immediately call on Congressional Republicans to end their obstruction and to join him and Democrats in support of our stand-alone legislation to increase direct payment checks to $2,000, which will be brought to the Floor tomorrow,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA., said Sunday night.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement Sunday, “I applaud the President’s decision to get billions of dollars of crucial COVID-19 relief out the door and into the hands of American families. I am glad the American people will receive this much-needed assistance as our nation continues battling this pandemic.” But made no mention of if the Senate would approve the $2,000 direct payment measure.

“The House will pass a bill to give Americans $2,000 checks. Then I will move to pass it in the Senate. No Democrats will object. Will Senate Republicans?”, said Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.
