Intense St. Pete Police Shootout on Video

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Pete police say there an officer-involved shooting around 4:17 pm in St. Pete on Wednesday. Police say shots were fired in the 1400 block of 18th Ave S.  At least one person and an officer was shot. 

Video of the shootout was sent to The Free Press on social media. Please be warned, this video can be disturbing to some viewers and does contain language.


St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman said in a tweet, “One of our @StPeteFL officers was shot late this afternoon. I spent a moment with the officer at the hospital and will continue to pray for his full recovery. The County’s Use of Deadly Force Investigative Task Force is conducting the investigation.”

A second officer was hurt, but it’s not clear how. So far, there is no information on the extent of injuries This is a developing story and we will update this brief once more information is received.
