The Florida Lottery today announced that Danita Wright, 65, of Saint Johns, is the latest Floridian to become a millionaire after claiming a $1 million prize from the popular 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game. Wright chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.

Wright purchased her lucky ticket at the Publix located at 2845 County Road 210 W. in Jacksonville. The retailer will also benefit from Wright’s win, receiving a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $50 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game has proven to be a hit with players, boasting the largest top prize ever offered on a Florida Scratch-Off game at $25 million, along with the best odds of becoming an instant millionaire. The game features over $1.66 billion in cash prizes, with overall odds of winning standing at an impressive 1-in-4.23.

Scratch-off games play a significant role in the Florida Lottery’s success, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales in the fiscal year 2023-2024.
