SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, in the 2200 block of Hammock Place in Sarasota. Deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at what has been described as a “house party.”
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He has been identified as Sambo Ung, a resident of Sarasota.

The second victim, also a Sarasota resident identified as Tony J. Register, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment. His condition has not been released.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section have been diligently working on the case, conducting an extensive search of the crime scene throughout the weekend.
As part of their ongoing efforts, investigators are also reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area in hopes of identifying and speaking with individuals who were present at the party.
