CLEARWATER, Fla. – The lifeguards of the Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department are diving into action for a vital cause, announcing their plans for an Ocean Mile Swim fundraiser to benefit the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.

The open-water swimming event is scheduled for Sunday, May 4th, at Tower 7 on Clearwater Beach. Participants can register on-site starting at 7:00 a.m.; the swim starts promptly at 7:45 a.m.

The scenic one-mile course will be patrolled by Clearwater Beach lifeguards, ensuring the safety of all swimmers. While some lifeguards will be actively participating in the swim, their colleagues will be on hand along the route to provide expert water safety support.
