TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers heading northbound on South Howard Avenue face immediate disruptions starting this morning due to a water main break.
The Tampa Water Department announced an emergency closure of the northbound lane on South Howard Avenue between West Bristol Avenue and West Inman Avenue, beginning at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, April 24.
Crews are responding to repair the broken water main. Barricades and signage will be in the area to help direct traffic around the work zone. Officials strongly advise motorists to use caution when driving through this section of South Howard Avenue.

Modifications to the traffic setup may be necessary as repair work progresses.
The Water Department anticipates completing the repairs and reopening the lane to normal traffic patterns by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 28. However, this schedule is dependent on weather conditions and the complexity of the repair.
