Laura Ingraham Clashes With Arizona Democrat Rep Over What ‘Process Is Due’ To Abrego Garcia

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham clashed with Democrat Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari on Tuesday evening after asking the lawmaker what “process” is still due to illegal migrant Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.

After Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador in March by the Trump administration, Democrats rallied to bring him back to the U.S., with some traveling to the foreign country to meet him. While appearing on “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss her visit, Ingraham pressed Ansari on the trip, asking what would ultimately make her “happy and feel good” about the issue.

“Congresswoman, were you worried when — I know this is the progressive way of dealing with interviews where you just, you know — I’m not trying to talk over you, I’m actually trying to get a question answered. I asked you a simple question,” Ingraham said.

“What process is due Mr. Abrego Garcia in the United States that you believe he has not received or could receive if he’s undeported, which is the Democrats’ priority? Undeport him? Bring him back here. What process do you want him to receive that would make you happy and feel good? Could he ever be deported?” Ingraham asked.

Ansari responded to the Fox host by saying the Supreme Court was “clear” in its ruling for the administration to bring back Abrego Garcia, claiming Ingraham was not “sticking to the facts of the case” by refusing to call out how Trump “admitted he made a mistake.”

“I’ve been very clear on the facts,” Ingraham said. “Well, Congresswoman, if you want to come on the show, we’d love to have you back.”

The two then began to talk over each other, leading Ingraham to call out for Ansari to “wait” and “take a breath.”

“If he comes back, let’s say he is undeported, and the Democrats are happy about that,” Ingraham said. “If he’s undeported, he will be deported from the United States. That will make you miserable, correct? That’ll set off a whole new firestorm because what you care about is an illegal immigrant’s rights to be here ad infinitum.”

“This is a union member, a person with a U.S. citizen, wife. This is a person who the Supreme Court has said needs to be facilitated back to the United States,” Ansari said. “That’s a fact.”

After Abrego Garcia’s deportation, an Obama-appointed judge ordered the Trump administration to return the illegal migrant, which then triggered the administration to bring the case to the Supreme Court. While the Trump administration in their original filing to the court admitted that Abrego Garcia was deported due to an administrative error, they argued that the illegal migrant should be kept in El Salvador due to his alleged connection to MS-13.

The Supreme Court ruled on April 10 for the administration to “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s “release from custody in El Salvador” and “ensure that his case is handled as it would have been” before he was sent to the foreign country.

“We got it. You will never support the deportation of this individual. That is the truth. Congresswoman, we appreciate it,” Ingraham said.
