Early Morning Attempted Burglary In Tarpon Springs Leads To Shooting

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – Tarpon Springs Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting an attempted burglary with shots fired in the 100 block of West Lime Street early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 12:43 AM.

When officers arrived at the location, they made contact with two individuals involved in the incident. During the attempted burglary, one of the individuals sustained a gunshot wound and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attempted burglary and the subsequent shooting and says that the two subjects involved know each other. Police say there is no ongoing threat, as this is considered an isolated incident.
