MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are currently investigating the discovery of a body found floating in the water off Sombrero Boulevard near a boat slip in Marathon, Florida, on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 84-year-old Tony Vescolani of Lansing, Michigan.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received notification of the discovery at approximately 1:26 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies located and recovered the body of Mr. Vescolani from the water.

Detectives have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Vescolani’s death. However, preliminary findings suggest that foul play is not suspected at this time.
