The Florida Lottery revealed Thursday that Miami resident Randy Villalpando, 24, won a top prize of $1 million in the popular 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game. Randy Villalpando received his $640,000 payout in a single payment at the Lottery’s Miami District Office.

The winning lottery ticket purchased by Randy Villalpando came from El Palacio Supermarket located at 995 S.W. Fifth Street in Miami. Fifth Street in Miami. The retailer who sold the winning scratch-off ticket will earn a $2,000 bonus commission.

The Florida Lottery’s flagship 500X THE CASH game offers a $50 ticket with a maximum prize of $25 million, which is the highest amount ever available for a Florida Scratch-Off game.

The game is also noted for having favorable odds for players to become instant millionaires, with overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.23 and over $1.66 billion in total cash prizes.

According to the Florida Lottery, scratch-off games account for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024.

Since their introduction, Scratch-Off games have awarded more than $65.5 billion in prizes and created 2,283 millionaires. Furthermore, a substantial portion of the revenue generated by these games, over $19.80 billion since inception, has been contributed to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF), supporting education throughout Florida.
