HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Spring Hill man died Sunday evening after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a vacant residence on Deltona Boulevard, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 PM. The FHP report indicates the man was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on Deltona Boulevard at a “high rate of speed.” As the vehicle approached Regatta Circle, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

“The vehicle departed the roadway and rotated until impacting a vacant residence located at 4434 Deltona Boulevard,” stated the FHP report.
Emergency responders transported the driver to a local area hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
