Tampa Woman Killed In Pasco County I-75 Crash After Driver Loses Control

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a 28-year-old Tampa woman, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 AM, south of State Road 52. The report indicates a 30-year-old Tampa man was driving a Toyota Camry southbound on I-75 when he attempted to overtake another vehicle. In doing so, he took evasive action to avoid a potential collision.

According to the FHP, the driver lost control of the Camry, causing the vehicle to rotate onto the highway shoulder. The vehicle then collided with a tree.

The impact of the crash resulted in fatal injuries to a 28-year-old woman, also from Tampa, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

The driver of the Camry was not immediately identified in the FHP report.
