HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County is holding a series of eight public meetings to gather community feedback on the impacts of recent severe weather events on stormwater infrastructure. The meetings will focus on the cumulative flooding impacts of seasonal rainfall and Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.
The public meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss the extent of the flooding, potential regional flood mitigation strategies, and resiliency strategies.
Hillsborough County has commissioned an independent engineering firm to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the effects of the 2024 storms on its stormwater infrastructure. The next step in this process is to collect input from residents and businesses about how these storms affected them.
