A Florida man has been arrested more than a year after his girlfriend was fatally shot while sleeping in their Orlando home.
Porshe Streeter, 30, was killed in what was initially reported as a home invasion on January 13, 2024.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Saun Rainge Jr., the father of Streeter’s three children and a witness to the shooting.
Additionally, Benjamin Garmon was also arrested in connection with Streeter’s murder, accused of acting on Rainge’s orders.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, responding officers found Streeter deceased in the bedroom after Rainge called 911 to report the shooting. Rainge was found with a gunshot wound to his arm.
Rainge initially told police that an armed attacker followed him into the apartment, entered the bedroom, and shot Streeter as she reached for her phone. He claimed he intended to get help from neighbors but stayed at the residence at his son’s urging, tending to Streeter and encouraging her to “keep fighting.”
However, investigators allege that Rainge’s account and timeline were inconsistent with evidence at the scene. The affidavit states that investigators found dried blood around Streeter’s wounds and that a medical examiner’s report indicated mild decomposition, suggesting she had died earlier than Rainge’s 911 call indicated.

Investigators believe that evidence, including witness testimony and security footage, points to Streeter’s death occurring approximately two hours before the 911 call.
The affidavit also alleges that text messages between Rainge and Streeter indicated that Rainge was not supposed to have access to the residence at the time of the incident.
Security footage and a description provided by the couple’s 10-year-old child led police to identify Garmon.
Both Rainge and Garmon are facing first-degree murder charges.
