The Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution (OSP) has secured a 25-year prison sentence for a man convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Lucus Figueroa was charged with 22 counts of possession of CSAM. Law enforcement investigations revealed that Figueroa downloaded and exchanged CSAM and engaged in sexually explicit conversations with other online users regarding the content.

“This predator possessed at least 22 files of child sexual abuse material featuring minors around the age of 12—and there is evidence of him engaging in disturbing, explicit conversations about a supposed 11-year-old,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “Thanks to our law enforcement partners at FDLE and Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Rebecca Smith-Hameroff, this pedophile will spend the next 25 years behind bars.”
The investigation began when the messaging app Kik reported Figueroa, one of its users, to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) due to suspicions that Figueroa possessed 51 files of CSAM. NCMEC then forwarded the cybertip to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

During the execution of a search warrant at Figueroa’s residence, FDLE agents discovered multiple phones and digital devices, which contained at least 22 files of CSAM depicting minors around the age of 12.
Attorney General Uthmeier’s OSP handled the prosecution of the case.
