HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic collision on US-301 Wednesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of a 76-year-old woman and her 80-year-old male passenger, both from Lithia, according to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) crash report.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:01 PM on March 26, 2025, at the intersection of US-301 and Fairway Meadow Drive.

According to the FHP report, a Subaru Outback, driven by the 76-year-old woman, was traveling southbound on US-301. A Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by a 44-year-old Ruskin woman, was heading northbound on the same roadway.

The report indicates that the Subaru Outback attempted to make a left turn onto Fairway Meadow Drive, directly into the path of the oncoming Volkswagen Tiguan. The resulting collision caused serious injuries to both drivers and the 80-year-old passenger in the Subaru.

All three individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Tragically, the driver of the Subaru and her passenger later succumbed to their injuries.

The 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan also sustained serious injuries
