The pursuit ended on Sunburst Lake Street, where the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. When deputies on the ground approached, the suspects took off running, leading to a brief foot chase. Both individuals were apprehended and taken into custody.
“Let me be clear. If you steal from someone in this community, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Theft is not just a property crime; it’s a violation of someone’s sense of security.”
The HCSO’s use of aviation technology played a crucial role in tracking the suspects and ensuring their swift apprehension.
The suspect’s names have not yet been released, the investigation into the auto theft is ongoing.
