Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced Thursday that three individuals have been charged with federal crimes related to the violent destruction of Tesla properties using Molotov cocktails.

The defendants, arrested in separate incidents across the country, face severe arson charges that carry a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” stated Attorney General Bondi. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

The incidents, described as acts of “domestic terrorism,” involved the use of Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla vehicles and charging stations.

  • In Salem, Oregon, one defendant, armed with a suppressed AR-15 rifle, allegedly threw approximately eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership.
  • In Loveland, Colorado, another defendant was arrested after attempting to ignite Tesla vehicles with Molotov cocktails. He was later found in possession of materials used to manufacture additional incendiary devices.
  • In Charleston, South Carolina, a third defendant allegedly wrote profane messages against President Trump around Tesla charging stations before setting them ablaze with Molotov cocktails.

The Department of Justice has vowed to pursue the full extent of the law against those responsible for these acts of violence.

“The Department of Justice is committed to ending all acts of violence and arson directed at Tesla properties and otherwise,” Bondi said.
