A Kansas man’s twisted ploy to impersonate a Walmart security guard ended in a horrifying sexual assault, leaving a 32-year-old shopper traumatized. Justin Metz, 42, is now behind bars, charged with kidnapping, rape, and sexual battery after allegedly luring a woman into a store bathroom under the guise of an “asset protection officer.”

The disturbing incident unfolded on March 9th at an Atchison Walmart on U.S. Route 73.

According to police reports, Metz approached the victim as she was leaving the store, claiming he needed to speak with her. He then led her to a back bathroom, where he sexually assaulted her before casually leaving the scene.

Hours later, Metz returned to the same Walmart, where alert employees recognized him and contacted authorities. He was taken into custody without incident.

Walmart confirmed in a statement that Metz was not an employee or security guard. “The safety of customers and associates is a top priority,” the retail giant said. “We acted swiftly to engage law enforcement and are working closely with them throughout this investigation.”

The victim reported the assault to police on Tuesday, leading to Metz’s arrest.

He is currently held at the Atchison County jail as authorities investigate whether he has committed similar crimes. A court date has not yet been set.
