A Florida woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty after allegedly drowning her dog in a bathroom at Orlando International Airport.
Alison Agatha Lawrence, 57, of Clermont, faces a third-degree felony charge in connection with the death of her dog, Tywinn.
The disturbing incident occurred on December 16, 2024, when Lawrence attempted to travel with her dog but was denied boarding due to improper paperwork, according to Orlando police.

An arrest affidavit reveals that Lawrence allegedly drowned the dog in a bathroom stall at the airport. An airport employee later discovered the dog’s body in a trash bag and reported the incident to her supervisor.
The employee told investigators that she witnessed Lawrence “on her knees cleaning up a lot of water and a lot of dog food from the floor of the bathroom handicapped stall,” the affidavit stated.
A subsequent necropsy confirmed that the dog died from drowning.

Surveillance footage from the airport captured Lawrence entering with her dog and later exiting the bathroom without it. She was then seen at her gate without Tywinn.
Police said the video evidence, combined with witness statements, led to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
In Florida, aggravated animal cruelty is a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
