POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A dangerous display of reckless driving on Interstate 4 (I-4) ended with the arrest of a 29-year-old Altamonte Springs man on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:50 PM on Thursday, March 13th, a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy was conducting traffic enforcement near the intersection of I-4 and State Road 559, north of Auburndale. The deputy witnessed a 2017 Ford Mustang perform an aggressive U-turn onto SR 559, accelerating rapidly and causing the vehicle to fishtail.

The Mustang then entered eastbound I-4, where it was clocked traveling at 54 mph in a 35 mph zone and later at 93 mph in a 70 mph zone. According to deputies, the driver further demonstrated reckless behavior by tailgating a Chevy Tahoe and then abruptly changing lanes, cutting off a semi-truck.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Gregory Raphael, Jr., 29, of Altamonte Springs.
Further investigation revealed that Raphael’s driver’s license was suspended, and he had no valid auto insurance.

Raphael was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. He faces charges of Reckless Driving, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked, and No Proof of Insurance.
