A Florida man has claimed a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” scratch-off game and chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.
Vernon Lee, 60, of Orlando, purchased his winning ticket at a Publix located at 11286 Dowden Road in Orlando. The Publix store will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $50 scratch-off game, “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR,” offers two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game also features over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes, with overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.50.
Scratch-off games are a significant part of the Florida Lottery’s game portfolio, accounting for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Since its inception, scratch-off games have awarded over $65.5 billion in prizes, created 2,283 millionaires, and generated more than $19.80 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
