ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A body was discovered deep within the Weedon Island Preserve on Friday, March 14th, during the ongoing search for missing 17-year-old Allister Nasr.

Due to the condition of the remains, detectives are currently unable to confirm whether the body is that of Nasr. The Pinellas County Medical Examiner will conduct an examination to determine the cause of death and attempt to identify the body.

Allister Nasr has been missing since March 1st, when he left his home on a bicycle. The bicycle was found earlier this week, on Wednesday, near the Weedon Island Preserve, prompting an extensive search of the area.

Over the past several days, authorities have conducted thorough searches of Weedon Island, employing various methods including foot patrols, drones, helicopters, thermal imaging, and boats.

A park ranger discovered personal items, which led to a renewed aerial search using a helicopter late Friday. This search resulted in the discovery of the remains.
