TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling southbound on I-275 into downtown Tampa should be aware of ongoing nightly closures of the Exit 45A ramp to Downtown East-West (Jefferson Street and Ashley Drive).
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, March 16th, through Thursday, March 20th, weather permitting.
During these closures, southbound drivers will need to detour around the work zone. The detour route involves exiting I-275 at Exit 45B, turning right onto Floribraska Avenue, then turning left onto Tampa Street, and continuing south to access Scott Street, Laurel Street, and Cass Street.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the detour. Motorists are urged to remain alert for construction workers and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.
These nightly closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work as part of the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project. This project is expected to be completed in 2027.
