HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 43-year-old Guatemalan man has died after being struck by a truck while attempting to cross State Road 574 (SR-574) in Dover.
The incident occurred west of Lindsay Road when the pedestrian attempted to cross the westbound lanes of SR-574. A Ford F250 pickup truck, driven by a 42-year-old man from Dover, was traveling westbound on the highway and struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, but later succumbed to those injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
