CLEARWATER, Fla. – A serious traffic crash involving a moped and another vehicle has left a moped rider with potentially life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of Sunset Point Road and Belcher Road at 8:14 p.m. this evening, prompting a response from Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue.
According to authorities, the moped operator was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital as a trauma alert. The extent of their injuries suggests they are in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Clearwater Police are advising motorists to avoid the intersection of Belcher and Sunset Point Road for the remainder of the evening as they conduct their investigation.
