TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters in South Tampa should prepare for traffic disruptions as the Tampa Water Department has closed the westbound lane of Interbay Blvd. between South Lois Avenue and South Manhattan Avenue for essential maintenance. The closure began at 9 a.m. today, March 12, 2025.
Crews are conducting maintenance on the city’s water distribution system, necessitating the lane closure. Westbound traffic is being shifted to the inside turn lane to accommodate the work.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid potential delays. Barricades and signage have been strategically placed to guide traffic flow through the affected area. Drivers are urged to exercise caution when navigating the construction zone.
“We understand that road closures can be inconvenient, and we appreciate the public’s patience as we work to maintain our water infrastructure,” said a spokesperson for the Tampa Water Department.
