ORLANDO, Fla. – Passengers hoping to travel on Silver Airways flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) were met with unexpected cancellations over the weekend, leaving many stranded and frustrated.

“We received notification yesterday afternoon that, effective immediately, all departing and arriving flights with Silver Airlines are canceled,” said Angela Starke, MCO senior vice president of public affairs and community relations.

This sudden disruption comes on the heels of Silver Airways filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2024. At the time, the airline assured customers that operations would continue as usual and all tickets would remain valid. However, the recent cancellations have cast doubt on the airline’s ability to fulfill its promises.

Silver Airways has not provided an explanation for the abrupt cancellations in Orlando. Airport officials have also declined to comment further on the situation.

The airline, headquartered in Hollywood, Florida, operates regional flights throughout the southeastern United States, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. These cancellations are likely to cause significant disruptions for passengers with existing travel plans.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are advised to contact Silver Airways directly for information regarding refunds or rebooking options. This developing situation raises concerns about the future of Silver Airways and its ability to continue operating amid its bankruptcy proceedings.
