ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 27-year-old woman from St. Petersburg was fatally struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Gandy Boulevard late Friday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on February 28th, 2025, just west of Oak Street Northeast. A Dodge 1500 pickup truck, driven by a 53-year-old woman from Dover, was traveling eastbound on Gandy Boulevard when the pedestrian ran into its path.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The FHP is investigating the crash. It is unclear why the pedestrian attempted to cross the busy highway at that time of night.
