POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake Wales man wanted for tampering with an electronic monitoring device was arrested Wednesday after leading Polk County Sheriff’s deputies on a brief chase.
Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on North Martin Road at around 8:51 a.m. The location was familiar to deputies as the home of 20-year-old William Spradley, who had an active warrant for his arrest.

While the disturbance was reportedly verbal only, Spradley fled the scene before deputies arrived. Deputies tracked him down to a property on Old Bartow Road, where he was taken into custody.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Spradley was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. These new charges also violated the terms of his probation, leading to an additional charge.

Spradley was booked into the Polk County Jail.
