TAMPA, Fla. – A residential structure fire broke out on Hiawatha Street in Tampa on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a swift response from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

Multiple 911 calls alerted the Emergency Dispatch Communications center to the fire at 4406 Hiawatha Street around 3:32 p.m. The first arriving engine reported smoke and flames visible from the front and side of the house.

Fire crews immediately deployed hose lines and entered the structure to combat the blaze. They successfully extinguished the fire within fifteen minutes.

Following a thorough search of the residence, firefighters confirmed that no occupants were present at the time of the fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries to civilians or first responders. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the displaced resident.
