“Busted In Brooksville”: Wanted Man’s Hideout Turns Into Drug Bust

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Brooksville man’s attempt to evade authorities backfired when his hideout was discovered to be a stash house for illegal drugs. Hunter Logan, 42, was arrested on February 20, 2025, at a residence on Peyton Place in Brooksville, initially on an outstanding warrant from Pasco County.

However, the situation escalated when detectives found drugs and paraphernalia in plain view.

Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit had responded to the residence based on information about Logan’s possible location.

Upon taking him into custody, they observed drug-related paraphernalia, prompting further investigation.

Logan admitted to possessing methamphetamine and marijuana. A subsequent search of the residence uncovered a significant quantity of methamphetamines, leading to additional charges.

Logan is currently being held on the following charges with corresponding bond amounts:

  • Trafficking in Amphetamines (Over 200 Grams): $50,000 bond
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (Count 1): $5,000 bond
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription (Count 2): $5,000 bond
