President Donald Trump revealed Sunday that Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and prominent conservative commentator, has been named the next Deputy Director of the FBI.

The appointment, which will see Bongino work alongside newly confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel, is part of the Trump administration’s broader efforts to reshape federal law enforcement and restore what the president calls “fairness, justice, law, and order” to America.

“Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next Deputy Director of the FBI,” President Trump announced in a statement. “Dan has a Masters Degree in Psychology from C.U.N.Y., an MBA from Penn State, and an impressive career in law enforcement. He was a member of the New York Police Department, a highly respected Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is now one of the most successful podcasters in the country—something he is willing and prepared to give up in order to serve.”

Bongino responded to the announcement on Truth Social, saying, ” Thank you, Mr. President, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel.”

Bongino, a staunch Trump ally and outspoken critic of what he describes as the “deep state,” has built a massive following through his podcast and media appearances, where he frequently discusses issues of national security, law enforcement, and government accountability. His appointment to the FBI’s second-highest position signals the administration’s commitment to placing loyalists in key roles within federal agencies.

In his new role, Bongino will work closely with FBI Director Kash Patel and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, both of whom were also appointed by President Trump. The trio is expected to lead a sweeping overhaul of the FBI, with a focus on rooting out corruption, ensuring transparency, and aligning the agency’s priorities with the administration’s vision for law and order.

“Working with our great new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, fairness, justice, law, and order will be brought back to America, and quickly,” Trump said in his announcement.
