WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Two Winter Haven men are facing a slew of charges after being caught in a web of lies following a gun theft and truck heist earlier this month. 27-year-old Terrell Leverett and 21-year-old Terrence Chase Jr. were arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on Monday, February 17th.

The arrests stem from a car burglary that occurred on February 9th in the Lake Daisy area of Winter Haven. Three firearms were stolen from the vehicle, and shortly after, a 2008 Ford F250 pickup truck was also stolen from the same area. The truck was later recovered after being abandoned.

The investigation led detectives to Leverett, who claimed he was with his manager at McDonald’s during the time of the crimes. He even encouraged detectives to verify his alibi. However, when questioned, the manager denied being with Leverett and stated that she never socializes with him outside of work.

Leverett was promptly arrested at McDonald’s. Detectives then proceeded to Chase’s home and arrested him as well.

According to PCSO, Leverett has an extensive criminal history, including charges of grand theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal mischief.
