Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Gandy Blvd In Pinellas Park

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Gandy Blvd in Pinellas Park Friday evening. The Pinellas Park Police Department has concluded its investigation into the incident, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Gandy Blvd North and Grand Ave North.

According to investigators, a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was traveling westbound on Gandy Blvd, approaching the intersection with Grand Ave North. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing Gandy Blvd from south to north in the marked crosswalk, but against the “Do Not Cross” signal. The truck had a green light.

The pedestrian was struck by the front of the pickup truck and was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation. The Pinellas Park Police Department has determined that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the incident.

Westbound Gandy Blvd, which was closed for several hours during the investigation, has now been reopened.
