U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested Islom Gaziev, a 65-year-old Uzbekistani national, in Owings Mills, Maryland, on February 4th. Gaziev was convicted of a fourth-degree sex offense in December 2024.

“Every arrest like this means one less predator on our streets today and one less potential victim tomorrow,” said Matthew Elliston, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Baltimore. “Our top priority is public safety, and this arrest is yet another example of our commitment to protecting the residents of Maryland. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who pose a threat to our communities are held accountable.”

He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree sex offense by the Westminster Police Department in August 2024 and convicted in December 2024. He received a sentence of three years of supervised probation.

Following his arrest, ICE served Gaziev a notice to appear before an immigration judge. He remains in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings.
