Lakeland Man Arrested In Connection With January 30th Burglary

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Jonathan Hobbs, a 19-year-old resident of Lakeland, was arrested on Friday, February 7th, in connection with a burglary that occurred on January 30th. The crime, however, was not discovered until February 3rd.

The incident took place at a business on Old Highway 60 near Mulberry. Three vehicles were damaged and burglarized, and a generator and pressure washer, valued at approximately $3,500, were stolen from the property.

Investigators reviewed security footage from a nearby property, which showed a white male suspect at the scene on January 30th. The suspect was seen loading the stolen items into a distinctive Chevrolet pickup truck, spray-painted flat black with a blue tailgate.

Detectives were able to link the truck to Jonathan Hobbs. Hobbs cooperated with the investigation and admitted to the crime, also revealing the location of the stolen property. All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the business.

Hobbs was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. He is charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure, three counts of conveyance burglary, three counts of felony criminal mischief, two counts of grand theft, and petit theft.
