A New York woman’s visit to Florida turned into a million-dollar win after she purchased a winning scratch-off ticket in Deerfield Beach.
Lynn Lamanno, 58, of Sayville, New York, claimed a $1 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s MILLIONAIRE MAKER Scratch-Off game. Lamanno chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.

Lamanno purchased her lucky $5 ticket from the Wawa located at 20 Southwest 12th Avenue in Deerfield Beach. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The MILLIONAIRE MAKER game launched in May and features six top prizes of $1 million. The game offers more than $79.3 million in cash prizes, with overall odds of winning at 1-in-3.87.
Scratch-off games are a significant part of the Florida Lottery’s portfolio, making up approximately 74% of ticket sales.

Since their inception, scratch-off games have awarded over $64.3 billion in prizes, created 2,230 millionaires, and generated more than $19.5 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
