POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake Wales man’s attempt to evade detection while driving a stolen vehicle came to an end in Frostproof late Wednesday night.
Just before midnight, a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a white Dodge Journey that had been reported stolen out of Highlands County. The deputy pulled the vehicle over and made contact with the driver, identified as 33-year-old Andrew Roldan.
During questioning, Roldan confessed to taking the vehicle without permission from his ex-girlfriend. He admitted to wearing gloves while driving to avoid leaving fingerprints and using backroads to avoid being seen.

Roldan was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended/revoked license.
