The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel “It Ends With Us” has been making headlines not just for its sensitive portrayal of domestic violence, but also for a whirlwind of off-screen controversy involving stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, and even Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.
The drama reportedly began during production, with rumors of creative clashes and tension between Lively and Baldoni, who served as both the film’s director and co-star.

Lively allegedly had a different vision for the film and her character, Lily Bloom, than Baldoni, leading to disagreements and a reported “civil war” atmosphere on set.
Adding fuel to the fire, Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband, reportedly became involved in the production, allegedly rewriting scenes without credit.
This allegedly further strained the relationship between Lively and Baldoni, with sources claiming Baldoni felt undermined and that Reynolds’ involvement was unwelcome.
The tension escalated following the film’s release, with Lively filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging a hostile work environment and inappropriate behavior.

Baldoni denied these allegations and countersued Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist for extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy, claiming they attempted to sabotage the film and his reputation.
The controversy has sparked a broader discussion about power dynamics in Hollywood, with some criticizing Lively and Reynolds for allegedly using their influence to override Baldoni’s creative control.
Others have defended Lively’s right to speak out against alleged misconduct and questioned the fairness of Baldoni’s countersuit.
The ongoing legal battles and public accusations have overshadowed the film’s important message about domestic violence and left many wondering about the truth behind the drama.
