Family In Florida Found Dead In Apparent Double Murder-Suicide

A double murder-suicide is under investigation in Sebring after a woman allegedly shot her husband and son before taking her own life.

The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on North Lake Huckleberry Drive at 4:14 p.m. on Friday, January 31st, after a concerned neighbor reported not seeing the residents for several days.

Inside the home, deputies discovered evidence indicating that a 54-year-old woman fatally shot her 63-year-old husband and 10-year-old son before turning the gun on herself.

“Detectives are working to piece together what led up to this tragedy,” Sheriff Paul Blackman said. “I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with their mental health to please ask for help. You can call 988 to speak to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at any time, and there will be someone waiting to assist you.”
