ODESSA, Fla. – Pasco Sheriff’s Office Deputies determined the threat to be unfounded. There is no threat to the school. Starkey Ranch K-8 has now resumed normal operations.
PREVIOUS REPORT: Starkey Ranch K-8 school was placed on lockdown Wednesday after a student reported seeing a suspicious person wearing a mask and possibly carrying a weapon on the exterior of the campus.
Out of an abundance of caution, school staff immediately activated the active threat plan.
Pasco Deputies responded to the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area, but the suspicious individual was not located. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that there is no current safety threat to students or staff at the school.

The investigation into the initial report remains ongoing. No further information is available from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office at this time.
